more The first time I picked up this book, I fell asleep after a few chapters. The pace of the book is so slow in the beginning, coupled with the abstract use of symbolism which as a layperson and non-Christian was thoroughly testing for me, I put it down after the first few chapters and did not pick it up again until months later. Once you get past the detailed historical references of the book and the slow start, it is rather interesting and the twist and turns do keep you glued to your seat. I liked the fact that the writer pointed to a possible location of the Grail even when it seemed to be a dead end at the conclusion of the book. I also enjoyed the thrills that came with this quest. All in all an unexpectedly great book.
