Skipping Christmas

The story line was alright, but I prefer the mystery and suspense of Grisham's other works.

Better than the movie. It was a funny and very different than every Grisham novel I've read. It really gets you in the Christmas spirit. I know that's what it did for me. It sucks I've seen that god awful movie so I already knew how it ended. But it was still a good book and I hope he writes some more Christmas stories.

Wonder comical book by Grisham!

This book is only adequate. It isn't Grisham's finest work by a wide margin, but it is still a good book to read during the Christmas season. However, for those that believe the movie (Tim Allen and Jamie Lee Curtis) is a dreadful, disappointing Christmas bore, then the book isn't much better, so check your expectations at the door or be prepared otherwise to struggle through the read.

This story is very un-Grishamlike: there are zero references to law or courts! It tells the tale of a pair of parents, in the absence of their daughter, trying to give the whole Christmas thing - trees and presents and awful food - a miss. But when the daughter unexpectedly decides to pay them a visit, they need to keep up appearances... entertaining read.
