 Yancey is, as always, superlatively competent in communicating his sometimes profound reflections on God, humanity, Christianity, society, grace, nature, and heroes (sung and unsung) in this collection of essays culled largely from his periodic columns in Christianity Today magazine.  The essays are never hurt-your-head dense, but they are often inspirationally and substantively thought-provoking, which makes this an excellent book for casual coffee table or bathroom reading.   hide

i simply like the book,among other reasons, because it confirms that benigno aquino,jr or ninoy aquino ,the murdered husband of former philippine president corazon cojuanco-aquino,became a christian.ninoy was philippines dictator ferdinand marcos' political archrival;to silence ninoy,marcos put him into prison where he read colson's book that resulted into his (ninoy's) born-again...more

pat robertson's 700 club also featured ninoy's christian conversion.

yancey's finding god in unexpected places shares how and where ninoy personally met the lord "unexpectdly":the prison. yancey also mentions several such other places  proving that god is omnipresent,omnipotent and omniscient.   hide
