Insightful book into the immigration problems within Europe. It may sound right wing, but it is written by a American liberal/democrat who lived in the Netherlands and now Norway. One thing that I can agree with is that Europe takes great care of it's immigrants financially and socially (Muslim or otherwise), but expects nothing from them in return. There is no plan to help integrate immigrants into their host country. In the US, immigrants overall tend to retain their culture while embracing American culture. The same is not true of immigrants to Europe.    hide

A scary and fantastic read. Makes me rethink Europe.

The book is a big wake up call for all of us.

A book everyone will wish was not true. Important reading but it's like reading about cancer. It's much easier to ignore.

Just started reading this and already distubed by neo-con prejudice passing as legitimate comment - I'm torn between continuing reading to see what the right right really right wingers think and trashing it - how did this junk become popular? Just started reading this and already distubed by neo-con prejudice passing as legitimate comment - I'm torn between continuing reading to see what the right right really right wingers think and trashing it - how did this junk become popular? Shocking generalisations, which I might have been able to forgive if it weren't for his blatant fallacies. There is a lot that is going wrong with both the spread of fundamentalist Islam and the European liberal response to it, but this book damages the debate by inserting propaganda into it. Interesting yes, but not to be taken seriously in my view.   hide

This was a bit right-wing for my tastes, but provides some interesting cultural comparisons between the US and Europe and raises some interesting questions about the potentital threat of radical Islam in Europe. Fans of the late Pim Fortuyn or Theo Van Gogh will love it. Supporters of "integration" will find much to argue with.

This book is so well-written you would think it was a novel.....and if only it was....
