The story grabbed me in the beginning with the arctic setting, the discovery of the ancient animal, the folkore.....was waiting in anticipation for the prehistoric creature to be thawed out of the ice on live television, and then when the beast disappeared so did my interest level. The rest of the story was almost laughable. Very poorly developed characters. Still a fan Lincoln Child, but I...more

Not a bad book. But I'm starting to feel like I'm reading the same book over and over again. When I pick up a new non-Pendergast Lincoln Child (or Douglas Preston), I know within 75 pages who's going to live and die, and who's going to be the brilliant-driven-genius-with-an-obsession-that-leads-to-his-demise.

Lincoln Child often writes with Douglas Preston and together they have written some outstanding books. While this isn't as good as some, it is a worthwhile story - sci-fi..ish

Lincoln Child's books are always entertaining and thought provoking, made me think about the documentaries that hollywood is "oh so quick" to believe as fact. Great Thriller, couldn't put it down.
