I have many friends in Iran and this book really helped understand the government of post-revolutionary Persia. This book gave me hope that the nuts will eventually be filtered out 'there'. Now, if we could get the kooks and crooks out of our own government... Theocracy is not the way to go. We had a taste of it with Bush and look what that got us. Iranians can criticize their government freely, just not the Ayatollah or Islam. But, just as most places, there's conservative and liberal factions, and the voters are free to choose. Iranians don't want to attack anyone. ...more
