A little heavy, but great scholarly work.

Ok I was not really sure I could ever love any pope more than JP II, but as I read this book, I am growing to love Pope Benedict XVI more and more. His insights are so deep and profound yet communicated so clearly. My faith and understanding of Jesus will deepen as a result of reading this excellent book.

Pope Benedict manages to offer a perspective of the historical figure of Jesus in accordance with the evangelical scriptures, offering at the same time a message about Christian ethics necessary for our times.

Foreword: "...this book is in no way an exercise of the magisterium, but is solely an expression of my personal search 'for the face of the Lord'." Excellent. Excited about part 2 of his work.

WoW!Pope Benedict is truly one of the greatest theologians of all time.Reading this makes me wish I was a Catholic. Pope Benedict is one of the greatest scholars.This book has great insight into the life and teachings of Jesus.A must read for all Christians. This one of the greatest books ever written!
