It is an interesting, but slow read... not a page turner. I learned a lot about the river and British history, but it won't be on my fav list

Not a great book. It jumps around and comes across more as a stream of consciousness with random facts as opposed to conveying a coherent narrative. Not impressed at all.

Long book, but short chapters made it feel shorter. Pithy history of a famous river. I liked that he did the book on the subjects of the river rather than just the chronology. Recommended for British history fans who take their history in fun doses.
