Where was the editor for this book? This story is overlong and a good third of it could be removed without losing the story. It was a good summer read by the shore. It started off fast and intresting but I agree was a bit of a soap opera. The ending was too tidy. Would have liked a surprise or two.

Ok - too heavy!

This book had a great premise - the build up and aftermath of a huge highway pile-up. The reader gets to know the victims a bit beforehand and follow their lives afterwards. The first half was riveting, but the last half descended into soap opera territory. Everyone pairs up and lives happily ever after, seriously? Meh.

Definitely a great read for the beach - 700+ page-turner.

This book took me months to read! It is a best seller? Where's the story? I don't like romantic novels at the best of times but when the story moves this slow it's difficult to tolerate. The author could have summarized this novel in at least 200 pages...not 700 +!

Just finished this,I had a tear just at the end,Fab book. The way the Penny moves all the characters within the story is brill. Its a huge read but well worth it,kept me going in hospital while i had an operation loving this author.
