more Having not taken in any of Ms. Atwood's writing before reading this, I knew very little what to expect with this one. I chose it for it's 50 cent crossword puzzle clues in the title. (The cover really doesn't tell you much of what you'll find inside; for all I knew I was gonna read a book about art history). Atwood has a keen storytelling sense, and develops her characters well. The story is a utopian/dystopian sci-fi wack-job, taking place in the not-so-distant future involving Crake's idea by destroying the world as we know it and creating a new one from scratch. At times the story reads like a sick and twisted fairy tale, but it's one well worth wading through, even if you're (like me) not all that interested in Science Fiction.
