I thoroughly enjoyed this book - once I got used to how it was written phonetically to reflect a Scottish accent! The characters balanced each other nicely and provided different points of view that added layers to the overall plot. I preferred the first three sections to the last. A sad snoozer.

Out of all of the Irvine Welsh books this one is the hardest to read. I enjoyed it very much...especially learning about how all of the main characters grew up and what shaped them into being who they were in the other novels. I read it awhile back but didn't quite finish it...second time is a charm? I now have to start from the beginning...darn it!

Quite hard to read at first, but once you get yourself actually into the story and imagine being present, it's alot easier!
