I don't think I've ever seen the word "odor" used so many times in such a short span... That said, I thought this book was a fantastic read. It is paced sort of oddly, with that long stretch in the middle where nothing really happens, and his quest for that ultimate scent doesn't truly begin until about the last third of the book, but I still found it compelling. I think its definitely worth a read, even if for no other reason than to experience a way of describing things that most authors touch on only briefly, if at all.
