Shattered family relationships, an obsession with fishing and the lessons of nature are described in poetic reflections which focus not so much on what is learnt, but on the irresolvable differences between one person and the next, and the unbridgeable gaps within the wounded self. But there are also poems about love that demonstrate how much more valuable happiness is when won after a battle with grief, loss, and self-hatred.   hide
