This is probably one of my Seuss favorites. Far from the easy-reader genre, this is a great fairy tale-ish story, complete with moral, that shows imagination, plot, and heart. Not to mention a single idea that has created projects for elementary teachers everywhere (let's make oobleck!) My husband and I often read this when we've had a tough day. It sounds silly, but it has some great lessons to be learned and a way of conveying to us be careful what you're complaining about because sometimes the way we imagine things is lie the Oobleck...sticking and hard to clean-up...plus, it makes us giggle...

This is a fantastic book that drives home the point that you don't always need some thing new and to be happy with what you have, for the alternative could be much much worse.
