Night Watch: Adapted for the Stage

Discworld, enough said. Laugh until it hurts funny.

This is my favorite book of all time. I recommend it to everybody! (although you should probably start with 'Guards! Guards!')

For anyone who has seen the BBC television drama Life on Mars, this novel is somewhat similar. For anyone who has seen the BBC television drama Life on Mars, this novel is somewhat similar. Sam Vimes is captain of the Night Watch (the highly respected constabulary of Ankh Morpork)... or at least he WAS until he got sent back in time while chasing an arch criminal, back to the early days of the Watch, when they were far less respected. Sam has to deal with a less professional workforce, concerns of time lines and to top it all off, teaching his own young self how to be a good night watchman. I have to say this is one of my better loved discworld novels also, and although I happened to read it BEFORE Guards! Guards!, which is where we first meet Vimes, and which fills in a number of subtle jokes, it was still engaging and hilarious at times.    hide
