After reading Guilty Pleasures, I still don't feel 100% captivated. It was definitely entertaining. I like the main character-Anita Blake, an animator ( she raises the dead) and a legal vampire executioner. She is small but tough as nails and has a sharp sarcastic sense of humor. There is lots of supernatural elements here (ghouls, zombies, were-animals). In this first book Anita takes down a master vampire and appears to be marked by the replacement, Jean Claude. I am going to continue on in the series as I hear that it gets better.
