Murder On The Orient Express

I have always liked Poirot more than Marple- and this books is one of the reasons why. It presents you with a good murder, a good "hero", a great list of suspects, all the clues you need to solve the mystery yourself, and a great little twist to the story at the end. If you've never read an Agatha Christie mystery, this book would definately be a good start!

I read this book long ago, but it gave me a deep impression about trains in Europe. I went to Europe and took train rides because of this book. Poirot rides the Oriental Express and a mysterious murder ensues. With his grey cells and evidences, you are taking on a great ride in the snow. Good to read if you are sitting in front of a fire around Christmas. Not scary, a bit sad in the end.

Mon premier A. Christie à vie... Ne pas s'en vanter n'est-ce pas ! Belle écriture (quoi que je lise la traduction) et rythme parfait. Les discriptions ne rendent pas le livre trop lent sans toutefois que l'auteur nous régurgite de l'information à un rythme "furax" . Et c'est la première fois de ma vie que j'utilise le mot furx... FÊTONS !!!

Poirot is one of my favorite detectives and I love Agatha Christie -- I like this book very much. I like the ending, and I think all the characters are interesting. Like many of Christie's books (all?) you can't really guess the ending before it happens, so if you like doing that when reading mysteries you might not like this book. I think it's by far one of the best Poirots.
