A slow read. Chamber of Secrets is essentially a rehash of the first book without any of the humor and depth that made Sorcerer's Stone so incredible. A slow read. Chamber of Secrets is essentially a rehash of the first book without any of the humor and depth that made Sorcerer's Stone so incredible. The plot was weak and uninteresting and the main characters were not further developed(with the exception of a couple side ones).Also, I hope the format of the following books changes. The start of the story with the Dersley's served a purpose in book one but in this book it seemed pointless and dull. I get it--they're not very nice people. Let's move on already. The ending was also predictable since it was basically the ending of book one in a new setting with a snake. Hopefully, new villians will be introduced in the books ahead.   hide
