Of course the whole time, I was congratulating myself on my keen perception because I picked up somethings before did anyone in the book (Except Jack of course, who is the MAN!) but while I was busily congratulating myself on these (minute) discoveries, the big ones slapped me on the side of my head like big dead fishes swinging through the air!
My only beef with the book--and I have this with every one of his books, all of which I still devour by the way--is that this suggested and described tortures are just more gruesome than they need to be. I wish he'd tone that down a bit but other than that, this series is great reading because the hero is unconventional, the plots are good and the writing ain't half bad.
