Typical Lee Child, great thriller and there were certainly at least 2 separate moments where I was totally taken aback but the twists in the plot, a nice couple of unexpected surprises. Of course the whole time, I was congratulating myself on my keen perception because I picked up somethings before did anyone in the book (Except Jack of course, who is the MAN!) but while I was busily congratulating myself on these (minute) discoveries, the big ones slapped me on the side of my head like big dead fishes swinging through the air! My only beef with the book--and I have this with every one of his books, all of which I still devour by the way--is that this suggested and described tortures are just more gruesome than they need to be. I wish he'd tone that down a bit but other than that, this series is great reading because the hero is unconventional, the plots are good and the writing ain't half bad.    hide

I chose this book at Border's only because it was on special and i'm glad I did. The detail that Reacher deduces from what others would see as such insignificant information is great. Will definately be looking out for more Jack Reacher stories! Great twist right towards the end that keeps you on a hanger until the last page

This is a typical Jack Reacher thriller with all the requisite parts- gruesome details, murder and madness, detailed description of military tactics and procedures, and an absolute lack of any moral ambiguity. Once we know who the bad guys are, we can be as certain as Jack is ,that they will be dispatched with every bit of professional ruthlessness and efficiency.

unbearably annoying!?! if you like this you must be a moron!?! reacher works it all out , first and on his own with no help!?! reacher beats up the 7 bad guys, all at once without getting hit!?! reacher is the best marksman in the world but never gets hit despite being six foot five and built like a bear!?! YAWN try writing a human hero!?!
