more If you love shopping, or just want a relaxing read that will make you laugh-out-loud, this book is definitely for you! Becky Brandon, née Bloomwood, is back! After a wonderful, ten-month honeymoon, and a wild trip to Milan where she attempted to speak Italian, the ditsy British shopaholic is glad to be headed back to London. Shopaholic and Sister by Sophie Kinsella is a deliciously hilarious 352-page work of Chic Literature. For once in the four-book series, however, shopping becomes a second priority for “Bexâ€, the protagonist. Upon the surprise return from her and her husband’s fab honeymoon, Bex is equally shocked and thrilled to discover that she has a long-lost older sister – or at least, a half sister – named Jess. Becky gets carried away in imagining how much fun they will have together. Then she meets Jess. How could it be possible that they are even related at all? How could Becky’s own sister hate shopping? Hold on a second, though – did she really order two different dining room tables with ten chairs each for their London flat? And twenty Chinese silk dressing gowns?
What I like most about Becky is that she could easily be a real person. In fact, she may as well be one of my best friends. This particular friend of mine travels all around the world, but at each destination, only really pays attention at one ‘tourist attraction’ – and that is shopping. She always brings herself back more than a couple ‘souvenirs’ from every trip. Trying to figure out the perfect Christmas or birthday present is never an obstacle, either – each year, I hit the mall and
