Really good.

The history of underground Rome is the real protagonist of this outstanding thriller! The events around a child's disappearance in the catacombs under Rome ended the career of one police official and put the boy's father in prison. Fourteen years later, a threat to the police and a series of shocking discoveries reopen the case.

I did not get it finished. However, it really isn't all that bad of a book. My problem is that it's just too heavy for my state of mind right now. I am wanting to read something light and fluffy. Still, I managed to get 1/3 of the way into it. The book has sort of a Da Vinci Code-ish feel but manages to be an original story. It starts slow and there are many characters in it, which makes it really hard to keep up with who's who. The book is also part of a series based around a group of detectives. Yet, the book jacket never alluded to this or I would never have chosen it. So for me I felt like there was no back-story for the main characters. Being a female, I need this. The author being a male, would not. Hence, why I do not like male authors. I still have plans on finishing the book later on. As I said, overall it really isn't that bad of a book for me.   hide
