Read this while take a children's literature course. The first half was much more interesting than the second half. I would recommend this book for students are learning about the United States during the American Revolutionary War.

I have read this book maybe five times since 7th grade. It's a favorite because it takes the reader to the place so much I can smell it. I could recognize Johnny Tremain if he were standing in a crowd of people.

In this historical fiction drama, an observant apprentice silversmith named Johnny Tremain lives in Boston at the prologue of the Revolutionary War. But when a freak accident injures his hand trying to build a sugar basin for John Hancock, his career as a silversmith is over. Will he chose to join the patriot cause?
