A Wrinkle in Time (Newberry Award Winner, 1963)

Yet another obligatory read for all kids, apart from the fantasy element, this book has a lot to say about acceptance, family, trust and self-doubt. Also, to-date the only book I have ever read that has the human protagonists spend time on a two-dimensional planet.

My favorite book as a kid.

Over the course of my life I have read this book several times. It is indepth and detailed. I related to Meg as a child but I think that I was too young when I read it the first time and was unable to understand somethings. I have just completed this book for the fifth or sixth time because my daughter just read it for the first. I have never read the next book and I am looking forward to it.

The conflicts that arise in the book prompted us to start talking about faith, good and evil, courage, kindness, individuality, and our deepest fears. It was a little scary for my youngest, who is seven and has a great imagination, because he could visualize all of the scary parts a bit too much. This book is a young adult classic.   hide

Read this in elementary school. I will never forget how much I enjoyed it. I had never read such an imaginative book before. Loved it!

Wonderful little book for 10-12year old kids while I read it just now being an adult. After reading the first one I really want to read all the series. It's a mix of sci-fi, a story about family values and relationships. The book has a little of "1984" in it - shows a society when everyone is the same...

Loved it but mixed feelings...

This is probably my favorite book since my teacher read it to us in grade 4.
