I have read all in the True Blood series so far and enjoyed them but either I have had my fill of them or the author has I am finding this very pedestrian and without the wit and humour of previous books - I dont think I will be continuing with them - and for the record I find the tv series a bit too raunchy so dont watch it though the casting is brilliant both Bill and Sookie perfect

I can usually fly through these silly books. The end just DRAGGED. I'll see when I get to Book 9, but this just seemed like filler.

Out of all the books so far in this series, this is probably the weakest. The only action happens within the first 150 pages and after that, it's pretty stagnant. I'm not sure how I feel about the introduction of Sookie's Great Grandfather, though I know his part is very important in the 9th book. All in all, I love this series. The characters are fun and real. You really...more

More interesting twists and turns in this one! I am interested to see how the Las Vegas vampires will rule Louisiana! The Were community also experienced a change in leadership and Harris hints that soon the Weres will make themselves known to the world (that should be interesting) Changes in Sookie's love life and she meets her fairy great-grandfather! I can't wait until...more

Not one basic plot in itself but as good as any book of the series. I loved that Eric & Sookie seems to be a little bit closer because of their blood bond.

This book is one of the better ones in the series. Lots of different storylines and a few surprises that keep you intrigued and looking forward to book #9. It was great to see the return of Alcide and Quinn - and I can never read enough about Eric! I must say that I was starting to get a bit bored with the series, but after reading this one, I'm excited to continue on!

This was quite a war-filled book for the vamps and weres, but the ending was so worth the fighting.

Still really good though not my favorite. Definitely a little slower than the other books, but still good nonetheless. Can't wait for Dead and Gone to come out! "He’ll spare you. You’re too unique to waste." "You must also know this. Even more pertinently, if anything happens to her, forces you can’t imagine will be set into motion."

Sookie Stackhouses eighth adventure, just as exciting as all her others. How much excitement can one waitress stand ? Dosen't get her groove on in this one though. Guess she's a bit tired... This aint great literature. It aint gonna change the world, and the sillyness factor is very high... But damned if it's not addictive !
