Dune was great, and I even loved Children of Dune and the political/social philosophy that abounded in God Emperor of Dune, but it just seems as if things have run their course. This book deals with the same groups, the same ideas, the same settings, and even the same motives as the previous ones. That's fine if you really get to know and love the characters, but with Herbert, they are new in every book. Herberts books can be page-turners and they can be very thought-provoking...but this one was neither. I'll read the next book only because I have come this far, not really out of genuine interest.
