Zelazny demonstrates his wonderful imagination.  The main character has depth and intrigue.  The novel nods to Greek mythology but has futuristic twist. Highly recommended...but call him Conrad, please.

Roger Zelazny wrote unconventional heroes and created worlds weird and wonderful. Macho and violent, but I really enjoyed this (sixteen yeas ago).

Zelazny's first novel and a Hugo winner.  You can clearly see the mythic hero figure archetype he would use in most of his novels.  A nice, quick novel with a warm, fuzzy moral at the end.
