The Patterson novels I've read so far all seem fairly formulaic. Perhaps it's just unfortunate that I didn't read any other books in the series between "Kiss the Girls" and "Pop Goes the Weasel", but the villains were very, very similar. Cross' love interest plot lines bore the crap out of me: if I'm reading an "action-packed thriller", I want it to be packed with action!
Despite my gripes, I have no doubt I will return to this author some time in the future when I want a quick read.
