Such a good book! The surprise at the end is not at all what I expected but it kept me reading to find out what it was. Well done, Ms. Flagg.

Dena, TV presenter, searches for meaning and information about her family to provide it. Good engrossing yarn.

I loved it! I read the first chapter and it didn't do anything for me - sat on the bedside table for months, but perservere! Once you get past the first schmaltzy chapter, it is really easy to get into the characters. (And the first chapter makes sense in context)

FF is a great storyteller. If you want a glimpse of life during a simpler time and is full of humor and self-realization...check it out.

If it wasn't for Fried Green Tomatoes, this would be my favorite of her books.
