more Much better than Flagg's (better known) novel, Fried Green Tomatos, I thought, this is the story of a television journalist driven by success living in NYC during the late '70's. The story switches between her point of view and that of her estranged and 'salt of the Earth' family from Missouri who only want to spend more time with her.
