I like most books by Marge Piercy but I was impressed that such a good poet could write a science fiction book.  She writes an interesting story about the future before the internet really took over the world.

Wow!  Astonishing twin tales of a conflicted past and dystopian future.  Will our societies and dreams lead to ecological harmony, cooperation, and freedom, or are we on a fast track to corporate domination, resource scarcity, and endless poverty?

Very readable, very engaging.  It's long but I wish it were longer!  Similar authors include Octavia Butler and Ursula K LeGuin.
