I almost hated to read this book as I knew MacDonald's own life was drawing to a close. He had aged Travis in many ways and made mention of the aches and pains and especially the women he had not just taken to his bed, but also had become dear friends with.
Part of me wishes that he had written a story about Travis's daughter but the actual description of her life and Travis's love...more
I almost hated to read this book as I knew MacDonald's own life was drawing to a close. He had aged Travis in many ways and made mention of the aches and pains and especially the women he had not just taken to his bed, but also had become dear friends with.
Part of me wishes that he had written a story about Travis's daughter but the actual description of her life and Travis's love for her told me without a story that she may have become very similar to him.
Follow Travis' lead. Retire early and live life every day to the fullest. hide
Elegaic. Clearly, McDonald knew that he was wrapping up his own life, and wanted to wrap up the McGee series, which had gotten very dark, with a teeny bit of hope that he'd have a good life after we stopped going to Bahia Mar.
