This book is amazing for people to understand what its like to be an emergency service worker.. It explains that it isnt all fun and games..

My absolute, hands down, favourite book of all time. 
It will tear your heart, but make you thankful if you are fortunate enough to provide your family with a peaceful life.
I read it before I had children, but now, as a mother, it takes on a entirely different tone.
I've read my copy 3 times....

At then end of the book Marc Parents' mother writes about the birth of her grandson and about children being a "full cup" at birth. I have shared this with many people over the years and it never fails to bring tears to my eyes. Beautiful, haunting book.
