I particularly loved the way she fleshed out Robespierre. I feel like I know him and Piercy drew him true to life. Excellent!

A thoroughly researched novel about the French Revolution seem from perspective of multiple characters, both real and fictional. I love her regular fiction but adore her historical novels. They put you right in the center of the time and place.

A really moving and engrossing account of the French Revolution. I particularly enjoyed the perspective of women and the accounting of their role.

A novel based on the French Revolution that is impeccably researched and brings to life several famous figures as well as the obscure lives of the common people who fueled France's discontent. It's a bit difficult to read because there are many different storylines to follow.

One of the best historical fiction novels I have ever read.

A great series of portraits of the revolution. I applaud her selection of characters though towards the end I feel that they're bent to much to the will of the author. While this is historical fiction not history I feel as though her treatment of the characters (including the obligatory lesbian) seemed to limit the scope of the book towards the end.
