Probably one of the most intense, creepy and seriously tense book I have read, where at point I would literally gasp for breath or start sweating (of course I was kid when I read it first!) Paul Sheldon, the famous novelist using Misery as his central character in a series of novels, is held captive by his number one fan Annie, who does all she can to force him to re-write the final book in the series. Tension, drama, some humor and chills ensue the rest of the book as he seeks to escape. A fabulous movie version of this book.
