This was a fun read because King published this under his pseudonym, Richard Bachmann for which "Desperation" was published at the same time under his real name. Both stories have the same characters but under different circumstances which King states or parallel universes. I personally though 'The Regulators' was the better of the two.

A little too weird and out there for me. I think I am spoiled from reading too many "it-could-happen" books. Then to go to something out in never-never land is a hard leap.

I bought both desperation and the regulators at the same time. I read deserperation first and then the regulators. I really love the creativity behind it. The plot line was very, immature, but the characters were developed quite well. Overall, I am pleased by the book, although I could not read some of the letters and journal entries because of the poor hand writting. I feel as if I missed something...

Frankly I think this was one of the weaker Stephen King Books I've read to date. After having read Desperation (which I thought was King at one of his finest) I bought the "Richard Bachman" side of the story and began to speed eagerly through the pages, only to find a weak plot masked by gore and mayhem. Audrey's diary entries were the best thing in the whole story.

I loved this story. I must have read it 50 times over the past 10+ years. It's a great read when you're needing to leave the real world for awhile.
