Little perturbed that this installment is nearly ALL back story. Still, King brings the small town of Hambry to life, as well as its inhabitants. You feel as if you know them. You love them and you hate them. I found this one a bit hard to get through, but I very much enjoyed the end, which conned me into giving it an extra star.

My favorite of the Dark Tower Series, which is one of the better fantasy series which I've read. Goes through Roland's history, which is the aspect of the stories that I like the best, but doesn't really advance the modern day story-line very much.

King flips the script on you once again and follows up Book 3's sci-fi with an awesome romance/western novel that is way better than anything you'll find in the Western or Romance sections at your local bookstore. This saga is your all-in-one legacy of Stephen King. He proves that he's not just a "horror" writer but a living legend!

I loved it. Others that i know who read this installment said it was the hardest one to get through. I didnt feel that. I loved Roland's background story. The only reason its not a 5 star rating is because im just that anxious for the Ka-tet to get to the tower! I loved it. Most people i know who read this installment said it was the hardest to get through. I didnt feel the same...more
