I loved it. Others that i know who read this installment said it was the hardest one to get through. I didnt feel that. I loved Roland's background story. The only reason its not a 5 star rating is because im just that anxious for the Ka-tet to get to the tower! I loved it. Most people i know who read this installment said it was the hardest to get through. I didnt feel the same...more

This is my favorite of the Dark Tower series. The reason being that it takes you off the Path of the Beam for a while, and introduces you to a love story, Stephen King style. Wow.

This book sheds some light on Roland's past and tells of his trip to Mejis that took place during his adolescence. It was a very interesting read that opened up Roland's true nature to the reader and brought readers closer together with the gunslinger. Easily the best volume in King's Dark Tower series yet. A very engaging story that puts the reader waist deep in Roland's past. The only...more

Many reviews of the Dark Tower series said that the firt 2 or 3 books are a bit slow but that the reader will be rewarded later on in the series. First off, I can say that the beginning of the series was indeed a bit slow in terms of any fast paced action, but I found them intriguing, well written and enjoyable. That said, if I had found the first books a bit slow, Wizard and Glass would have...more

Fantastic Book. Roland's past is finally explored for the first time since The Gunslinger. Captivating twists and twisted characters cullinate into a compelling saga of love and sorrow, heart ache and violence. The portrayel of Cuthbert and Alain, Rolands best friends and fellow gunslingers, is magnifiecent. Cuthbert bringing his witty humour and Alain his sober knowledge add the flavour that...more

At the moment Roland first began his flashback, I didn't think it would end up taking up the whole book. I felt that the flashback should have been SIGNIFICANTLY shorter. With that said, it was still enjoyable. People who are more interested in romance and a change of pace from the rest of the dark tower series will probably find this book particularly appealing. I, however, bitterly hate love...more

Little perturbed that this installment is nearly ALL back story. Still, King brings the small town of Hambry to life, as well as its inhabitants. You feel as if you know them. You love them and you hate them. I found this one a bit hard to get through, but I very much enjoyed the end, which conned me into giving it an extra star.
