Bitter is the New Black : Confessions of a Condescending, Egomaniacal, Self-Centered Smartass,Or, Why You Should Never Carry A Prada Bag to the Unemployment Office
My absolute favorite of Jen Lancaster's books. This book will draw you in to all of her books. She is laugh out loud funny and somewhere in the back of your mind, you will always think - "hey, I know someone just like her."
had trouble relating at first but then it reached a point i could relate to and laughed my ass off
i was skeptical at first, a few chapters in and i just began to love this book.
Hysterical. My favorite part is when she went to pick up the race packet for her friend at a health fair and realized she was the only fat person there. I'm pretty sure I snorted. Classic!
Good escapist reading... the author of this memoir keeps a great attitude and raucous sense of humor about what, to her, is a horrible situation. While most people I know may not have started with the salary and lifestyle she did, I do think many can relate to how a downturn in the economy can change everything. Good for some laughs which is what I was after when I picked it up.
One of the best books I've read in the past year. If you can appreciate foul language used creatively and hilariously (and, oh boy, can I), this book will have you rolling. Not that it is only about the foul language. Reading this book immediately prompted me to buy every other Jen Lancaster memoir on the shelf. Loved it!
