Attualissimo !!!

I enjoyed this book for what it is, and what Orwell was trying to portray as the downsides of "communism in action", but I still favor Animal Farm as a much better, more concise example of the failings of Stalin/Lenin's Soviet Union. I enjoyed this book for what it is, and what Orwell was trying to portray as the downsides of "communism in action", but I still favor Animal Farm as a much better, more concise example of the failings of Stalin/Lenin's Soviet Union. I know it's heresy to say this but does 1984 really have to be as long as it is? Orwell paints an excellent picture of the nightmare of a totalitarian state but I still get the feeling that this book drags on for about 100 pages too long. Maybe I'm just a lazy reader, I don't know.   hide

It only took my 6 years to finish this book, life kept interrupting but I stuck with it and am glad that I did!

good story. i jus dont like orwell as a writer. he was an idea man.
