This was an amazing book. The style of the writing really allows you to experience the main characters life. It deals with very deep topics such as grappling with God and religion, dealing with friendship and loneliness, finding one's identity, sexuality, etc. - it's all in there!

Early classic Irish coming of age tale; full of hope and despair!

Some parts get a little slow, but an incredible read. Especially for a young man like myself! His religious phase and his liking for Aquinas is lost on me, but the big picture stays true.

I read this entire piece of crap book for a class. James Joyce is a good writer, but is so obsessed with himself that the book should really be entitled, "Look At Me and How Great I Am!!!"

More readable than Ulysses, but not as worth the effort.
