more A heroic piece of investigative journalism. If you want the lowdown on the worst skulduggery of the establishment in the U.S. over the past ten years you won't do much better than this book. He's stepped on so many Mandarin's feet at this stage that he must sleep with one eye open for assassins. The methods adopted in the stealing of the elections of 2000/'04 are well documented and breathtaking as are the Bush/neo-con links to Saudi oil men. Mike Moore uses much of Palast's research in his documentaries and it's not hard to see why.
Palast is almost totally black-balled in the U.S. media but is a star in much of the rest of the world. He was even arrested by the sinister Dept. of Homeland Security for sticking his nose into the corporate feeding frenzy of post Katrina New Orleans. If they're trying to shut him up then he must be doing something right. The best recommendation I can find for him is this comment from the White House no less,
"We hate that sonuvabitch."
