more “An Ideal Husband†is a comical play full of wit, satire, and humor. It is a play that explores the political aspect of London through a man name Sir Robert Chiltern, who is known as a true gentleman, a noble politician that build his career on ethical principles, and an ideal husband. Although his appearance and reputation in society seems remarkable, the truth is, his past can be morally questionable. This irony is what will make the play so memorable because when he is blackmailed into supporting an unethical scheme, you wonder if he would fall back to his old ways to protect his reputation and his wife, or stick to his moral beliefs. It is a play about love and forgiveness but most importantly it is a play that shows the ridiculous importance London society has put on appearance and money over principle. Overall, it is a fun easy read full of sarcasm and witty banter. I mean after all, what more do you need =). So go check it out!
