One of my favorite books. Unlike Little Women, everyone ends up where you knew they would, and it makes it that much sweeter.

I read this as a little girl and Polly's adventures have stayed with me even today. This is a timeless novel about a young girl's relationship with a family of a different socio-economic status than she. Polly eventually emerges a butterfly from her cocoon, whose struggles helped her find herself along the way.
