I think it's a testament to LKH's writing abilities that you had something like 10 new characters introduced in one book and I never got confused. Not to mention the introduction of the whole Vampire Council in the plot. I mean we dealt with the Earthmover but that was like... what? Four books ago? Plus this whole drama with Asher and Jean-Claude... There was a lot going on to say the very least. But I never got lost in the fray.
All in all, it's one of her best... a good balance of sex, political intrigue, mystery and horror.
