I'm a huge fan of Charlaine Harris and the Sookie Stackhouse novels and in that circle of fans, I kept hearing about the Anita Blake series by Laurell K. Hamilton. A month or two later, I got the next book and it was a bit better. Then came the 3rd book, etc... The books keep getting better and better. I'm ravenously reading them as fast as I get get my hands on them.
*I've heard that some of the later books get a bit crazy and fans are lost because of heavy use of sex, etc... *
I'll let you know when I get there. For now, my recommendation is that this series is well worth the read.
In the first book we are introduced to Anita Blake--- a feisty, tough as nails animatior and legal vampire executioner who may be diminutive in size, but not in spirit or power. Anita is proof that good things do come in small packages. This book also introduces you to some other characters who like Anita you will grow to love/appreciate more with each book.
Happy Reading.
