It’s a huge place and it took me 6 months to travel every corner, yet I feel that was not enough time, and from reading this I feel Bill needs to spend more time discovering this gigantic continent. Which is only a minor complaint, he hurtles around the country missing some of the highlights along the way. But that is the nature of travel in Oz, you can’t see everything it’s just too bloody big.
He has a burning passion for the place, the people and of course the beer. All of this is on the page and is very engaging.
It’s a brilliant advertisement for the country and I think the Oz sense of humour shines in this book despite the fact that the author is a Yank. It contains a multitude of laugh out loud moments and is hard to put down.
If you have been to Oz it’s a good reminiscing session and if you’re planning a trip it will excite and influence you.
