Anne of Ingleside (Anne of Green Gables, No. 6)

For some reason during my "hurricane break" I picked up this volume of the "Anne" Books. I've read it a zillion times and it never gets old!

This is probably my least favorite of the Anne books but it is still good. I love Anne's patience with Gilbert's Aunt and how trying to do something special for her gets her to leave.

What else can you say about the Anne Shirley stories but that they are sweet and warm? Definite feel good reads and it's nice to see that Gilbert still cherishes his "Anne-girl".   hide

Anne is now a mother of 5 children and seems to have developed a close relationship with her garden, so she becomes somewhat boring, naturally, and the focus is shifted to her children's adventures and to those Anne tries to matchmake. I love how the always-meddling Anne gets put in her place when she realises the couple she is trying to matchmake have been secretlly engaged all along! I...more

It's been so long since I read this book, but I do know that I enjoyed it! Anne handles married life and motherhood the same way she did when she was a young teen-- with strength, character and humor!

Loving it from the start...

It is my favorite of all the Anne books I think. I love Anne as a mom who is still really in love with Gilbert! Its all so wonderful.
