This is a wonderful series for young girls - am reading this with my 11year old, but this one is not the best in the series.

A really fun book to read in the series!

So far this is my 2nd favorite Anne book, only behind the first book in the series. A very captivating set of characters. A sprinkling of adventures that make one laugh, smile, and cry. As predictable as some of the plot turns seem, I always seemed to enjoy how stories developed. Definitely a "one has to read the first three books first" type of book, though. Anne of Windy Poplars, the much forgotten fourth book in the series, is made up of a compilation of Anne's letters. Although you could most likely skip the entire novel and miss very little to the plot development in the story, it nonetheless is another window into the growing and maturing mind of Anne. If you DO skip this novel, when you reach the Fifth book, Anne will seem as though she has completely matured overnight. This book represents that slow maturing complete with the typical Anne-like mistakes that are so common to her.   hide

For once i didn't like it, i literally could read the last "chapter" and feel that i hadn't missed much and just go into the next book. It was mostly a filler book in the series, in my opinion

good stories, and of course loved Anne, but too many long letters to Gilbert with nothing "juicy", and no letters from him! What is he up to? How bad does he miss her? And what about Diana? Never any letters to her. Does she name her daughter "Anne" after all? Good ending. Definitely left me wanting to read the next one!
