Would have to agree w/Les - taking on the FBI/Hoover was the "high jump" for sure! It's not my favorite, but definitely one of the best. The DVD, w/Maury Chakin & Timothy Hutton does an absolutely superb job with this particular story!!

I read all of the Nero Wolfe mysteries beginning in high school.  They are still such a comfortable read.  It's like visiting old friends

Totally fun.  Nero neatly maneuvers around J. Edgar Hoover and leaves him ringing the doorbell on the front step while he plans his next gourmet meal with Fritz and Archie.  It had another reference to the Society of Aristology.  I love that concept so that was another reason to love this book.
