Much better than "Sacred Sins;" the characters actually talked and worked things out when they disagreed, and didn't hop right into bed together. I just felt there was more chemistry between the characters in this one, and less subplots detracting attention from the main characters. The plot was interesting and original, and it was just an enjoyable read overall. That being said, the reason I didn't rate it higher was that it just wasn't edge-of-you-seat suspense, nor a makes-your-heart-smile romance; it didn't engage my emotions the way I think a four or five-star book should. I recommend borrowing it, but I suppose it is an enjoyable-enough read to be worth buying if you must. However, for more bang-for-your buck and the best of Nora Roberts, I recommend Blue Smoke or the O'Hurley series (Born O'Hurley (The Last Honest Woman / Dance to the Piper) and O'Hurley's Return: Skin DeepWithout A Trace (The O'hurleys)).   hide

It's OK! There was not a lot of mystery since we know from the beginning who the killer was and the love story took forever to develop and then he tells her he loves her on their first time together. And then they know each other for like 2 weeks and he asks her to marry him, who does that?

Sacred Sins, the story about a hardened homicide detective forced to go to a skilled psychologist for a serial killer's profile, explores the depths of a killer's twisted mind and a jaded man's dislike of the field of psychology. The sequel, Brazen Virtue, follows the first detective's best friend and partner in his falling in love with a victim's grieving, vengeful sister. I liked both of these books, especially since the second detective had lost none of his personality displayed in the book during his own book.   hide
