Evidentially this book wasn’t popular with Bradbury fans, but I think it’s one of his best! I’ve always been a Bradbury fan; he has the knack to take the ordinary and make it scary. Overall, Dandelion Wine is nostalgic, and it starts out a bit fluffy for me, but it soon won me over. The story is about the foils and fables of boys in 1928 Green River, IL Truly, there are...more

it was a busy summer. felt like there were a few things too many left entirely open, though, which seemed like they wouldn't be. i loved the junk character near the end, but why wait so late (both in the book and the summer) to introduce him if he's such an integral part of the town all summer long? that said, it was fun and did remind me of being a kid - one thing after another after another,...more

A book by Ray Bradbury, written from the perspective of a young boy. Mixing childhood fantasy seamlessly with daily reality this book contains some of the most hauntingly beautiful prose I have read. Themes are coming of age and defining happiness and aging. Read it, it's strange but will impact you deeply.
